A Long Way Gone

"Take a Trip to the Dark Side of the Rainbow with this Dorothy Must Die Artwork" got my attention by the name. My book was about the dark side of the war in Africa which is a good tie with the blog I found. "None of these things are your fault." In the book A Long Way Gone the protagonist Ishmael is told this line everyday. I know I would get sick of it and want them to quit saying it. I GET IT, NONE OF THESE THINGS ARE MY FAULT! It's a good book and shows the struggle these kids encountered while the war was going on. They did a good job on the imagery throughout the book. Like when the guy had his throat slit wide open by a soldier. All hell breaks loose and before you know it blood is all over the floor, the walls, and even you. The book is a nonfiction taking place in Sierra Leone, which if you don't know like me that's a country in West Africa. I wouldn't have known where it was if I hadn't read cover to cover. As a reader I don't like to take time and read the notes on the author but in some instances it really helps you understand the book more. /http://www.epicreads.com/blog/dorothy-must-die-artwork/

  1. You do a nice job finding inspiration from the Epic Reads post and connecting to your own reading. That's higher-level-thinking; that's what I'm looking for.
