The child called it evokes a string of different emotions and thoughts that I don't usually feel on a regular basis. The whole book feels like a pamphlet against child abuse. David is abused and talks about his parents beating him, which I can't really relate to. When David talks about his mother being kind to his brothers and his father being compassionate to David it makes me feel nostalgic to my childhood. I don't understand why his mother is so cruel to him, and not the other children. I wonder if he was doing something as a child that he didn't realize that would make his mother despise him, although this is not an excuse to justify what his mother did to him.

  1. I'm not able to make a connection between the post from Epic Reads and your post.

You've certainly offered insight into your thinking as you read - but how does it connect to the post on Epic Reads about Veronica Roth's tour?
